Fruity

Since discovering that Tommy is allergic to pineapple and blueberries, we've had to be very cautious about introducing new fruits to him. This is sad because we are fruit lovers, especially in the summer. Blueberries are some of my favorites, so it's really hard to not keep those around. When we gave him watermelon for the first time, it was really hard to cut him off after just a few pieces because he loved it. Fortunately, he had no reaction, so let the watermelon gluttony commence!

He ate three slices and then asked for more. Between the two of us, we finished off half a watermelon in one sitting.
There's really nothing cuter than a little mouth trying to take on a whole slice of watermelon.

Great shots! What a bummer to be allergic to fruit. I remember watching a sitcom episode where the lead character thought he was allergic to fruit but his mother had told him this because he would hog all the fruit as a kid. Anyhoo, I hope your little guy gets to enjoy other fruits! Looks like he loves the watermelon!

Hi Erin I read your blog often but have never commented.
But after hearing about Tommy's allergy I wanted
To share with you that my son is allergic to all berries
And that grapes are a berry. He does fine with it but it can be scary. Also just an FYI there are small amounts of the real berry juice in artificially flavored things so depending on how allergic he is he could react to it. Hope it helps!

Btw your running has inspired me!

I thought for sure my daughter would love watermelon because I ate 42 lbs/day of it when I was pregnant with her (and it was winter and cost a million dollars). But she can't stand it.
More for me!
