Be Still

With two energetic boys, I mainly take photos of movement. Capturing a still life is something I've never tried before, so it was fun for me.

I love flowers in cut glass vases because you can see the green stems. These are probably the last fresh flowers we'll get to cut for many months.

Orange and black jellybeans! As much as I love candy, I think black licorice anything is an abomination and should be outlawed, but Shane and Luke both love them.

Last weekend, my bestie Leah came to visit and drank this delicious pina colada martini. I had a triple chocolate bliss martini and while it was SO good, it wasn't as pretty as Leah's!

I know this doesn't really count as still life, but he's pretty still when he sleeps!

I love that second shot, the close-up of the flowers. The colors are gorgeous!

And I totally agree with you on the black licorice thing. I had fennel for the first time this past weekend, and it tastes like black licorice, so stay clear! :)

I loooove zinnias! They're the best for cut flower bouquets... Great shots!

Beautiful flower pictures - perfect still life photos! BUT nothing could be as beautiful and perfect as that last shot of your little Tommy. So precious!

I love the flowers.

And as I said in my post, also as a mom of two boys, the picture of the sleeping buddy is a picture of "life, stilled." Good job!

Am not a fan of licorice either.

While I, too, think black licorice is the single most disgusting taste on the whole planet it made for a great picture. And that drink looks lovely :)

I probably ate like 15 of the orange jelly beans this past weekend. Sorry. They were just so YUMMY.

That Pina Colada was excellent!!! My favorite Pina Colada will always be the one you made me that I had to eat with a spoon while Tuco sat on my lap!

Oh my fave is the Tommy mouthy one. Too sweet.

Not sure what this says about me, but my second fave is the martini. Yum!

You know my saliva problem? Well, it increased by 100% with the image of the martini.

But you make up for it with that last shot. Bring him over tonight for some sleep. k.

Of course, I love the baby photo best! But the cherry in the martini jumped out at me. I don't even like cherries to eat, but the red color sitting against the glass is so soft and lovely. And the jelly beans... they scream Halloween and Fall and all fun things during this season. Great photos!!

I love that second one of the tops of the flowers, especially against that white background. So pretty!

And that last one is still and FULL of life so it definitely counts! ; )

OH Martini, how good you look! Oh fruit allergies that have taken away my ability to drink fun things!

Beautiful captures, Erin. Love them. The flowers are so beautiful and vibrant!! I hate black jelly beans too. YUCK. Can I come over to your house for one of those drinks? I could bring cupcakes and hold Tommy for hours for you. (I'm not sick anymore, promise!!)

LOVE you!
