An Open Letter To The Fine People At International Delight

I am a huge fan of your products. In fact, your coffee creamer is all I buy. I don't drink my coffee with sugar, but there is nothing better than coffee with flavored creamer, in my esteemed opinion. Now, I believe that variety is the spice of life, so when I run out of one flavor of creamer, I usually buy a different flavor the next time.

You should also know that I'm a huge fan of cupcakes. So when I went to the grocery store and saw your new Sweet Buttercream creamer, I couldn't get it in my cart fast enough. I was so excited that I actually came home, opened it up, and tasted some without coffee. It was beautiful. And then I added it to my coffee, and well, as you can see, it was love at first sip.

Until I noticed that pesky gold label. You know, the one that says Limited Edition. I went to your website, and it says that LE flavors are usually around for two months. Two months! International Delight, WHAT IS UP WITH THAT? It scared me so much that next time I was at the store, I bought three bottles because I am crazyobsessiveawesome like that. These last few weeks, I've fallen deeply, madly in love with Sweet Buttercream. Sometimes when I really love a food (like cupcakes), I imagine a scenario in which I am trapped inside a room full of that food and have no chocie but to eat my way out. My latest scenario involves swimming in a sea of Sweet Buttercream, and I swoon with love at the thought of this. And the feeling is mutual. The other day I came home from work to find Sweet Buttercream waiting with a very important question.
037
I said yes, OF COURSE, and now Sweet Buttercream and I are happily planning our upcoming nuptials, and I've promised it that I will never cheat and buy another flavor again. Except for the whole thing where it's going to be gone in TWO MONTHS. Maybe even less. International Delight, you cannot do this to me. It will be tragic on a Romeo and Juliet level. So please, I beg you to reconsider. For the sake of the love between myself and Sweet Buttercream. And because, look: Tommy's already bonded with his new daddy.

This is not a paid review. International Delight has no idea that I'm even writing this and will probably take out a restraining order if they ever do read it. But I would gratefully accept payment in the form of a warehouse full of Sweet Buttercream.

Sweet Buttercream sounds almost heavenly! :)
I'm a little disappointed that I haven't seen it at the commissary here in Germany...

I can't find it here...looked at 2 grocery chains...trying WalMart next!

Enjoy the sweet goodness some for me!

I also dislike sugar in my coffee, but enjoy flavored creamers! I used to be a CoffeeMate girl, because they had a bunch of yummy flavors (Cinnamon Roll! Blueberry Cobbler!) but lately International Delight has been winning all over the place. I just dumped a good dose of Sweet Buttercream into my morning coffee, and I have to say that I'll be sad if and when it goes away.

P.S. I hope International Delight doesn't take out a restraining order, because this post was hilarious. :-)

BWAHAHAHA I love you. Seriously. You are the greatest. I too love International Delights. I too only use coffee creamer (of the flavored variety) in my coffee and yes, it's love. Pure, caffeinated love.

You are HILARIOUS. Thanks for the early morning laugh. And you almost had me convinced to buy some Buttercream, even though I'm a purist and only drink my coffee with real cream and raw sugar. Ever think of going into sales? :)

You were almost responsible for laptop death, but as I had already finished MY coffee before I read this, the laptop did not get drenched when I busted out laughing. Unfortunately said laughter did draw strange looks from other passengers sitting next to me in the airport. Oh well. :)

You are too much! Thanks for an early morning giggle (it was very lady-like. I totally did NOT laugh so loudly it caused my baby to jump and my toddler to give me a look that I thought was reserved for her teenage years). I hope International Delight hears your pleas, if only for Tommy's sake! :)

So... I don't drink coffee. Well, unless it's blended with chocolate and peanut butter and loads of whipped cream on top.
So, I don't completely understand the love of buttercream creamer, but I think it's probably similar to my obsession with the chocolate peanut butter coffee that is keeping my local coffee shop in business.
But your post? Had me laughing out loud at my computer first thing this morning.
Adorable.
And creative.
I love your blog :)

I cannot say how hard this made me laugh! Though, I'm pretty sure the neighbors just filed a noise complaint.

I want to try this flavor now too!

Hope your palette of creamers arrives soonish!

You're making me wish I loved coffee. Do you think this would be good poured over a bowl of ice cream, though?! Ooh, or maybe I could just freeze the creamer instead...

Love~ The crazy anti-coffee girl.

shhh. i'm a coffeemate coconut creme girl. i only shop at one grocery store ... and pass about 6 other stores on my way there ... because they are the only one that carries it. sad, isn't it?

How funny! You know what I wish....that they made the fat free in more flavors, you can only get those in french vanilla and hazelnut.

So because of that I often skip on the fat free and go straight for the limited editions.

I just tried the dulce de leche... it tastes like condensed cream...yum!

Will look for Buttercream!

Okay.. I am ALWAYS on the look out for new creamers and I have NOT seen that one yet! It looks amazing. You are lucky to have had it for several weeks now!! :) I really hope it comes to the stores around here so I can try it! It looks like dessert :)

OMG that sounds divine. We picked up Vanilla Carmel yesterday and it is AMAZING... (It may be carmel vanilla, but either way it is GREAT!)

This is how I feel about the Italian Cream one that their competitor makes. I think it's always around if you want someone to "cheat" with once this one goes away... ;-)

Laura Marchant said...

I have never tried or seen that one. I am addicted to the Italian sweet cream!! Yum!

When you get your year's supply, pass some on to me, because i am a big fan of flavored sweet coffee. I usually go with vanilla, but i am going to have to try the buttercream.

Caramel Macchiato is my current flavor to make out with/drink straight from the bottle.

Did you know that you can freeze creamer and then throw in the fridge when you are ready to use it? I did that with TWO bottles of Peppermint Mocha and I'm currently using one of them right now.

IJS.

My fave was Almond Toffee (the one that use to only come out during the holiday season in the cute little penguin bottle) but alas i have not seen it in 2 years now and it breaks my heart. My new fave is Italian Sweet Cream but i will be going out now in search of Sweet Buttercream...yummmo!

OKAY I USED TO swear by coffemate, but ever since i began trying the INT DEL flavors...........i will nEVER go back no matter how much i have to pay!!!! I have only been able to locate the SCRUMPTIOUSLY delicious flavor sweet buttercream twice. I have driven a 60 mile radius to all the stores and have not been able to find it again. I would be willing to pay someone to sell it to me, pay shipping, etc. please email me at marykaci@comcast.net

Finally...someone who understands the NEED to drive into 4 surrounding counties, hunt out websites that 'say' a certain store has this in stock, and give that look to your husband when he doesn't understand why you drove 45 miles out of your way home to "buy a bottle of what?" My personal fav is caribbean cinnamon creme..and for some reason, it has disappeared from my local shelves...but is listed as a core flavor on the website. I suppose I must now bang down the doors of my local grocery and demand they stock...I'm just not enjoying my coffee as much..and I have a keurig..Newman's Extra Bold KCup + Caribbean cinnamon cream = TRUE LOVE!

I really like the Sweet Buttercream too. The limited edition scares me. I was so hooked on White Chocolate Mudslide and then it disappeared. It is heart breaking when you love something like that and then it is taken from you (with no warning). Several months prior to it being taken out of the market, they should give us the heads up. We could at least make sure we stock up on it while we can. Just sayin....

This one still makes me laugh! :) And I am glad you have some in the freezer. Although I think even more I look forward to the post you will write when they run out. Of course immediately after that I shall petition International Delight to return it for you immediately.
