Break's Over

Hey, look, it's September! How'd that happen? Thanks for sticking with me through the August break. There's a lot I want to blog about now, like how my running is going (or not going, thanks stomach flu), Luke's first few weeks at preschool, my first few weeks at school, Tommy's rapidly expanding vocabulary, how Tommy has an EEG scheduled in one month and the thought of it makes my heart and head hurt, how I somedays don't know if I'm really happy or really sad because there seems to be a fine line between the two. Also, how the song Birdhouse in Your Soul by They Might Be Giants has been my happy song since high school and do They Might Be Giants still tour and produce CDs? Okay, that one is not really worthy of a blog post, but it popped into my head and now I'm wondering why I don't have TMBG on my running playlist.

This is how my brain has worked lately. It's been really jumbled. Pretty happy or maybe sad, but things are going well. I'm not running as fast or far as I'd like. My mornings are a lot more hectic than I'd like and I wish I could bring summer back to my door RIGHT, RIGHT now, even though I'm secretly looking forward to quite a few things this fall (but not winter, please no snow).

I promise to come back next week with blog posts with real!words! once I jump back into this. In the meantime, are you as excited about the three day weekend as I am?!

Welcome back! My running is not going like I would like it to either, but I keep telling myself this is a journey, not a sprint. If I continue to do what I'm doing for the rest of my life I think I'll be OK.

Had to tell you the TMBG do make music still and they have AWESOME KIDS CD's TOO!!!! LOVE THEM!! THey're called "Here Come the 123's" and "Here come the ABC's". Both my babes (age 5 and 2) plus my hubby and I dance and sing to them regularly! :-)
(btw, have NO clue how I stumbled on your blog!)

YES!!!! I am excited about the three day weekend even if we have just about every minute scheduled. At least it is not at school.

We love They Might Be Giants and I just saw they were actually at the Shedd Aquarium for a concert. I almost tried to get tickets!

Welcome back! TMBG does still make albums - I use one of their more recent ones ("Here Comes Science!") in my classroom. :)

Can't wait to hear about your first few weeks. Way behind you around here, today was our first day!
