I wish I had a recording of my voice when I told Shane Tommy was a boy. I just remember having so much joy and pride in my voice. No regret, no wishes that he was a girl, despite what strangers at the grocery store constantly say, "Aww, two boys? I bet you wanted a girl."
"No," I always reply, "I'm so lucky to have my two boys."

And I am.

That is a beautiful picture!
My oldest is a girl, and when I was pregnant with #2, I thought I wanted another girl - right up until the ultrasound tech told us it was a boy. My heart immediately swelled & burst, and I knew that God's plans are perfect.
Whatever kids you are given are just exactly what you need.
Oh that picture is so sweet and so gorgeous! As is this post. :)
Love it.
What an amazing photo! I always wanted a girl, but now that I've had a boy, I wouldn't change him for the world!
i LOVE this.
and i feel the same way about my 2 girls ... but if you ever want to trade one for a while ...
LOVE this picture!
...and you know how I feel about gender. :)
You got that right. I almost feel bad that this new baby is a girl after having three boys. I'm tempted to do another ultrasound because I FIRMLY thought the baby was another boy. Everyone says, "YOU FINALLY GOT YOUR GIRL!!!!"
Huh? What? I never SAID I wanted a girl!! Why do people have to assume everything, when they don't have the slightest clue! Everyone is going SO overboard with this new baby ... that I'm like whoa, slow down. It's just a baby ... :x
what a great picture!
Aww, this photo is priceless---love it! I wanted a boy for #2 as well...mainly b/c both of us had one sibling of the opposite gender, and I wanted mine to experience that closeness of a brother. I will confess I was hoping for a girl w/#3, but I am unbelievably happy with having 3 boys now and have no need to keep trying for a girl as people always ask! We wanted 3 of whatever we got :)
Those are two very beautiful boys and they are fortunate to have a momma that loves them as much as you do. <3
Those moments are the best, the ones with no regrets.

Such a beautiful photo + beautiful words, heart, and family.
beautiful photo. As a mother of two boys also, I do not regret it for an instant. Two boys are amazing, I'm not sure now what I'd have done with a girl...though I'm sure it would have been fantastic as well. I get tired of hearing how I must have wished for something other than I got. How can anyone look at my two and think I'd change a single thing?
The love for your boys is in every word, every breath, every smile, every holding of hands or embrace... it is all over this amazing photo. Sometimes I just don't get people... then there's you with your wisdom and your beautiful BOYS!! Wonderful post!!
Boys are perfect!
So is that picture! Framed in your house, I hope!
What a fabulous picture! Absolutely beautiful.
That is a BEAUTIFUL picture. I hope we have a second boy too. Now I'm addicted :-)
LOVE.
Beautiful!!!
That picture is to die for! I'm hoping to have girls, but maybe I'll end up liking little boys even better :)

I felt exactly the same when my third boy was born. Of course, I have a daughter...there are other ways ;-)
I am soon to have two boys too! And I can't wait! Seriously. I was told the other day that I was the perfect mama for boys and it just hit my heart in the right spot. Boys, sigh.
ahhhh! i love this so much! that memory, this picture. LOVE!
