Then I woke up today and it was raining. Rain. On my first full day of summer vacation; it just didn't seem fair. But then I remembered that if I didn't have a good day, it was no one's fault but my own. And so, we had a good day.

{Yes, I know his shoes are on the wrong feet. Our mantra lately is "choose your battles."}

We crossed the bridge and I said, "What do you think we'll see, Luke?" He said, "Maybe a crocodile!"
But first, I said, "Look at this pretty flower," and he said, "Actually, that's a daisy."

Then he told me what all these letters were and I thought, "When did you get so big?"

And then, we did see a crocodile, but I was assured, "It isn't real, mom, look."

We left for lunch and shared secrets with friends. Then we came home, where two boys took unprecedented naps.

Welcome, Summer 2010. You're going to be good to us.

I'm sure it will be!
We'll have to compare notes at the end as we both have 2 boys around the same ages. I'm looking forward to it!
I'm jealous but so very happy to live through you! I'm so glad you enjoyed the day, I hope you enjoy all of the summer days to come, rain or shine!
Last week, while I was at work, I thought I had my favorite pair of black flats on the wrong feet. It turns out I'm just insane.
In other news, your boys are adorable. :-)
I am ready for it to be my turn...except I am currently yelling at a kid...so maybe not.
Yay for summer! I'm so glad you had a great day, rain notwithstanding. :)
I agree, your kids are getting too big!! Congrats on summer break. Enjoy all the fun days ahead!! :D
HOOOOOOOOORAY!!!!!! I so badly wanted to post that on your Day in Our Life picture yesterday. I got a little giddy for you just looking at it!
I think I am going to have a choose your battles kind of summer too (my baby girl is SO TWO and we are potty training - whew!). I love and agree with the 'if I don't have a good day it's no one's fault but my own' especially in this blessed and MUCH needed summer break from the 80 hour work weeks! :)
i'm so excited for you for summer! i know it's going to be wonderful!
it was so good to just hang out today and watch the kids have fun.
i would like to point out that although i do believe in choosing my battles wisely, ellie didn't really wear pink socks with brown capris. the socks were simply for the playland. now...the navy wedge sandals that are not shown? THAT was a battle i chose not to fight.
So happy for you and summer!
I'm so excited for you that you're on summer vacation now. And the photos of Luke's shoes on the wrong feet make me laugh. I don't know why, but I can't stop giggling :) Your boys are so cute.
SUUUMMMMMMMMERRRRR!!!! So happy that you are done with school and home with your boys. YAY!
