Sprung

Every winter, I wonder why I live in a place where it snows and ices and just generally sucks for several long, frigid months. There is not one single thing that I love about winter. I guess snow is pretty, but it's also stupid and cold and to me, that cancels out the pretty.

But then, spring comes in, with her pinks and blues and greens.

And I remember WHY I live in a place with winter, because without winter, we wouldn't really have spring.

With the promise of browns turning to green.

And coats only needing to be worn for a little while longer and sometimes not at all.

So thank you, winter, for giving way to spring.

Absolutely gorgeous pictures. And I totally agree, without winter, we'd have no beautiful spring and promise of summer to come.

I love your pictures. I don't know how you find time to be such a great photographer! And I agree completely, winter sucks but Spring is beyond sweet!

Gorgeous shots! There is something about the world coming to life again that calls to the photographer in all of us - I just posted with photos about Spring too! I focused on magnolias (check my blog out if you get a chance) - I love the variety of your photos here!

I do the same thing when winter hits- I tell my husband we are moving south. right. that. minute. Then spring comes, bless this weather. I love it.

And now I am insisting that you get copies made of every picture you took here because they are all beautiful!

Great shots...love that blue sky! I find myself smiling when I am driving on days like that for no reason except I missed that blue!

It's true. I grew up in the Midwest, spent the first 10 years of my adult life in San Diego, then moved back when we started a family. San Diego is like spring year-round (and yes, I miss it). But you don't get the thrill of spring that you get in the Midwest. It's hard to replicate that without going through the harshness of winter.

Your vividly gorgeous photos also remind me why I live in a climate where "warm" happens only part time. I don't actually dislike snow or winter, but really dislike the cost of heat and and all of those cold climate expenses. BUT each year Spring comes in all of her beauty and makes the contrast so extra spectacular!
