I really don't like Fall, but I am really, really trying. It's not that I have anything personally against Fall, but it's just that I know snow is coming soon. And I really, really hate snow. REALLY.
The other day, I captured shots of Luke's muddy feet, but I also captured shots of what Fall means to me.
Fall days are unpredictable. Sometimes you start out bundled up, wishing for the sun to warm your cold nose...

And if you're lucky, the clouds start to break

Then you can look up a beautiful blue sky through the bare trees.

But my favorite thing about Fall are the flowers that hang on while all the others die. They make me think of myself, refusing to wear anything but flip flops on days when my toes turn purple from the cold.

Beautiful pictures and one sweet little boy!
He's so cute in that hat.
Love the leaves and sky...
These shots are really pretty. And he is a doll :)
Those red leaves in the sky are beautiful!
These are really lovely. Cute hat on the kiddo!
It looks so sunny in your town. Sunny and fall-y. Luke's body language is so sweet in that photo-- I love when I randomly capture moments like that.
I know exactly what you mean about not being able to separate Fall from pending and inevitable snow fall. I have the same conflicted perspective.
Beautiful photos!
All of these shots are so lovely! I love how you told the story of the day and had the photos to go along with it. Beautiful!
I wore flip flops the other day. I love fall. :)
As long as your pedi matches the purple toes, it's all good.
The second shot is beautiful. Great pics :)
I love the first one! I love fall, but I know- it's not here long enough and is always the announcer of winter.
Steph
I love your photos!
We don't do fall here in Colorado. Apparently fall means "snow 12 inches". Like today. Thumbs down.
I love the picture of your little boy. so cute!
These are great! And the commentary makes them even better. I still want to wear flipflops to but, oh wait, I can, it was 75 degrees here yesterday. Oh well. I'm not boasting... at least you get cold weather!! :)
All of your photos are great, but I really love the first and second pictures. I'm a sucker for red leaves....and cute bundled-up kids!
You captured some really lovely shots, Erin.
Nell
I love the second shot, and then the beautiful blue sky! I love those days!
I also hate the snow, so it can be hard to get into this fall thing! Having my birthday in fall helps, though!
I love that murky green water. Beautiful shots.
Great Autumn Captures! You are sure right about fall. It is unpredictable!
I do actually love fall. and your pictures remind me of why :)
I love all your photos but the first has to be my favorite. He is one adorable subject!
The weather is so fickle in the fall - is it not? Beautiful photos!!
Great pictures. I've been admiring the sky through the bare trees lately, too. This is my first fall outside of California (well, and I had half a fall in Houston but that doesn't count, either) and I love it.....although I, too, am not so sure I want to think about what's coming next quite yet. :)
For not liking fall, you got some great photos! I love the first one!
I LOVE fall. Seriously. Even with the doom of winter. I don't know if we can be friends if you have fall hate. :-) Today was the perfect fall day in Detroit-- the leaves are bright colors, it is 11:30 and we still have thick fog, the air smells like fall...I love it!
Oh, and, your kid is cute in his hat. :-)
I love your photos and also, I've been meaning to yell at you about your flip flops. Just looking at you makes me cold.
This is a beautiful post. Both the words and the photos are inspiring.
gorgeous photos!! i love fall too. the leaves changing colors make me happy.
AWH!! Beautiful captures Erin. Fall is my favorite time of year!
I wish we had fall!!!! I'm so jealous of your pretty leaves. I wish we lived nearer and our 2 year olds could be in the fall together.
Beautiful shots!
Not looking forward to snow coming either...
Beautiful sky! I wish I could capture a sky like that!
great shots...Luke looks so happy!
Love the photos-it really turned into a gorgeous blue skied day-I love that about autumn.
I've always struggled with the anticipation of winter the season brings, but I sure do appreciate the colors of fall. Fun pictures!
I LOVE Luke in red. To me, he is the season!! (And the other photos are pretty awesome, too!)
The sky is SO blue in that third picture. Did we really have a day that nice recently? Hard to believe!
Beautiful. I hate winter too. H.A.T.E.
Amen on the unpredictability of fall days for sure! Love your pictures. So perfect!
beautiful pics, erin!!
and yes, i'm so thankful to know someone else that wears flip flops into winter. here? even with a little snow on the ground. =)
